This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach an amazing group of 3rd graders at a high poverty inner city public school in Indianapolis.

All of my students are on the free breakfast and lunch program. The school has over 500 students with 40% of them learning English as a second language. I have a class full of eager and talented children who strive to succeed and learn.

My Project

My classroom is a colorful space filled with learning. I make it that way with banners, posters, and learning materials I make or find. We use materials such as task cards for group work and scoots that I print. All of these things are printed for my students. They fill the classroom and daily learning with color and brightness. I need more ink and colorful paper to make more materials and resources for my students.

Having colorful, vibrant materials for my classroom will help encourage all of my eager students to work on their tasks and enjoy their surroundings.

I will be able to readily create and print materials that will be used for this year and future ones as well.
