When you enter your classroom or office each morning, do you immediately get to work or do you take a second to unpack, chat, or tidy up? I watched my own behaviors and realized that when I start my day in a softer way, it affects the tone of the whole day.
I want to give students an opportunity to begin their day with choices they can make.
This year I want to get away from 'busy work' for the morning and allow my students to slowly get their brain working and ready for the day that lies ahead. We are in need of Plus Plus blocks, magnetic builders, and games for our soft start time.
