Bright Beginnings: Welcoming First Grade Class for All Learners
Help me give my students a warm, engaging learning environment where every child feels supported, inspired, and excited to learn. I am requesting remote-operated outlets, command strips, and name tags.
In the heart of St. Louis, my first-grade classroom is home to 22 bright and eager learners, 9 of whom are English Language Learners from a variety of cultural backgrounds. Each day, we work together to build not just academic skills but a sense of community, confidence, and belonging. Many of my students face significant challenges outside of school, and my classroom is often one of the few places they can count on to feel safe, seen, and supported. I strive to make our learning environment warm, organized, and visually engaging so every child feels welcome the moment they walk through the door.
To bring this vision to life, I’m requesting help with essential supplies and tools that will make a big difference in our daily routines.
Command strips will help safely hang student work and classroom visuals without damaging our school walls. Basic school supplies like pencils, crayons, dry-erase markers, and folders are always in high demand and often in short supply. Remote-operated outlets will allow me to easily control lighting and create a calm, focused atmosphere, especially for students who may feel overwhelmed. Lastly, decor items like posters, storage bins, and calming visuals will transform our space into one that sparks curiosity and celebrates diversity.
Your support will directly impact students who are working hard to learn not just letters and numbers, but a new language and a new way of life.
