My Project
My first-grade students are eager, curious learners who thrive when given opportunities to explore through hands-on, engaging activities. A light table would provide a dynamic way for them to build foundational skills in literacy, math, and STEM while also developing creativity, fine motor skills, and social interactions. In our classroom, we focus on making learning meaningful and interactive.
A light table will allow students to engage in activities that strengthen letter and number recognition, sorting, patterning, and problem-solving.
It will also serve as a sensory-friendly learning tool, benefiting students who need additional support in focus and engagement. Whether they are practicing heart words with transparent letters, building patterns with colorful tiles, or exploring science concepts like color mixing, this resource will create an inviting and stimulating learning environment.
Many of my students learn best through play-based activities, and a light table will make learning even more exciting for them. This tool will encourage cooperative learning, as students work together to complete tasks, share ideas, and build confidence in their abilities. The manipulatives included will provide endless opportunities for open-ended exploration, reinforcing key academic skills in a fun and engaging way.
