This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My resource students have trouble staying focused and on task while in class. The larger pencils will allow them to focus on what the teachers are saying and not worry about their pencils or the lead breaking. The pencils will also let them explore different writing tools. The tangles will help keep their hands busy to keep them from getting distracted. The snacks/ treats will inspire them to work harder and complete their work as well as give them a boost in energy if they're feeling off or tired.

Headphones will be used a reading aid, silent reading is difficult for them so to aid them they can listen to an audiobook version and follow along or use a read-out-loud.

We use whiteboards in resource class to do spell check and math practice, so the dry erase markers will be used for that. The sticky notes will be multi-use! They will be used as word lists, sentence starters, and other uses for accommodations! In writing and grammar, the multi-colored pens will be used to edit and fix mistakes when working on assignments in class.

These tools will be an amazing asset in their learning and their growth as students and in turn as people in the world.
