My Students
This year starts my first year of teaching and my students are great. My second grade class is full of different levels of learners and I’ve had the opportunity to get to know them through the first half of the year. Our district is a Title I campus and there are many underprivileged students. We have a tight knit community and our students have the best staff looking after them. This year we are working on leadership skills and giving our students a “vision” for their learning. I’m beyond blessed to be a part of this school and get to know my wonderful students.
My Project
Guided reading is an essential piece in furthering literacy. Half of my students came to me below reading level. Help me Brige the Gap! Center activities that spiral what we are learning can greatly improve a students understanding! Since guided reading takes place in small group settings, having engaging centers for the rest of the class is essential! Small group instruction to target students who need extra help in math is also essential. Being a first year teacher, I came in with nothing for centers. Having these items would greatly increase my impact and give me extra time to spend getting other essentials done to further my growth into an awesome educator! Thank you for your consideration!
