My Project
In today’s digital era, access to technology and quality learning tools is essential for student achievement—especially for those in underserved inner-city communities. These students often face systemic challenges that limit their educational and creative opportunities. To help close this gap, I am requesting key resources that will contribute to a more equitable and engaging learning environment: tables, a MacBook Pro, and a Canon camera. These items will enhance student learning, support creativity, and prepare students for future academic and career success.
Tables are crucial for creating a functional and collaborative classroom.
Many inner-city schools lack adequate furniture, forcing students to work in cramped or makeshift setups. Providing durable, multi-purpose tables allows for flexible seating arrangements and encourages both group collaboration and individual focus. Whether students are participating in hands-on projects, writing, or using digital tools, a stable and organized workspace is vital for concentration and engagement.
The MacBook Pro offers students access to advanced computing power that can handle a wide range of academic and creative tasks. Many students do not have access to such resources at home, limiting their ability to build digital skills that are increasingly important in higher education and the workforce. With the MacBook Pro, students can learn graphic design, video editing, coding, and multimedia communication—skills that foster creativity and open doors to future opportunities.
The Canon camera will give students hands-on experience in photography, videography, and digital storytelling. It will be used for class projects, journalism, yearbook production, and community initiatives, giving students the tools to document their lives and express their voices. These experiences build confidence and technical expertise.
Together, these resources support equity, creativity, and student empowerment. By investing in these tools, we are helping inner-city students thrive in a modern, technology-driven world.
