My Project
Our Title I school is dedicated to providing every student with the essential tools needed for academic success. However, as funding for our 1:1 Chromebook program dwindles next year, we are facing a significant challenge. While some schools benefit from PTSA support and booster club funding—and many students elsewhere can afford to be a part of the "bring your own device program"—our students are at risk of falling behind due to a critical shortage of technology.
Without access to adequate device storage and charging capabilities, we cannot ensure that every student will have access to a device to use throughout the school day.
This gap in technology support disproportionately affects our school’s lower socioeconomic population, creating an equity issue that undermines our efforts to provide a level playing field in the classroom.
We believe that every student deserves equal access to technology, which is why we are seeking to install dedicated Chromebook charging stations in some of our core classes. With these stations in place, our teachers will be able to rely on continuous access to fully charged devices, allowing every student to engage fully in digital learning without interruption.
By providing necessary infrastructure, we hope to close the technology gap between schools that have access to additional funding and those that do not.
Having a device available for each student will ensure that lessons incorporating technology run smoothly, fostering better engagement and learning outcomes.
This project will establish lasting charging solutions that support our students day after day, year after year.
