My school is a Title I school located in South Ozone Park, Queens. It is home to over 400 students from many countries, such as Yemen, Guyana, Dominican Republic, India, Haiti, and China. My school is a very warm and supportive learning community. We have several outreach programs for our families.
Our students are loving and motivated to learn.
My class is very culturally diverse and they struggle with grasping basic concepts. However, they have a positive attitude and a fierce determination to overcome any challenges that they may face, whether it be at home or in school. They amaze me with their perseverance and I am in awe of their determination.
My Project
With our eventual return to in-person instruction after the shutdown due to the pandemic, it is so important to engage my students with the implementation of lessons using a document camera. This document camera will allow me to further engage my students by using an interactive methodology to support their different learning styles.
Financial literacy is such an important concept and my children need to be cognizant of its impact on their future success in life.
This technology will enable them to be exposed to important financial literacy concepts such as money, needs, wants, savings and banking.
