This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My fifth graders have such great imaginations and love to have real books to read. They adore having a variety to choose from with many different interests. When they get caught up in a book they love, they like to read more like it. Anytime I can get them to have an actual book, that is a major teacher score!

Students need access to materials to practice with in order to get better and be lifelong learners with a love of reading.

Personally, I always liked the stories better when I got to choose what to read and would love that passion to continue with my students. I don't want the lack of interest to be the reason they aren't practicing their reading. That is why I put together a cart of items which are very popular high interest book collections.
