My Project
As a school social worker, many students that come to my classroom struggle with sensory, self-regulation, and processing their emotions. My kiddos are truly unique and have some of the kindest hearts!
My students are absolutely LOVING working with LEGO this school year.
I have recently implemented a "Brick Based Counseling" program with my students, and we are in need of more resources to continue making the program successful. Working with LEGO and building materials can help students to express themselves creatively while also practicing self-regulation and attentional skills. I would like to incorporate more building sets to keep the students engaged, as well as a Lego holiday ornament for each student to build and take home.
Continuing with Brick Based Counseling, I am excited to give my students the continued opportunity to use LEGO blocks as a tool for developing their social-emotional skills. This is a fun and engaging way to keep the students interested in their social work sessions and help them to express their emotions and creativity.
