My Project

What are some golden tools that teachers wish they had or buy with their own money, that are not school supplies?

This project will help to create visually calming and encouraging setting, along with the environment where the students will have materials and references that will assist their learning experiences.

Every year, I had to borrow a step ladder from another teacher, ask a custodian to bring a huge heavy ladder, or just step on a desk/chair, to put up posters or other resources on the wall, so that the students can refer to them as we learn and talk about the learning content. This act happens constantly throughout the year; changing or replacing the resources/bulletin boards, etc. I am realizing a step ladder is one of the helpful golden tools for a teacher life.

Just like the step ladder, another golden tool teachers love to have is a laminator of their own, where they don't have to wait 15-20 minutes to warm up, that could possibly be broken, or out of laminates. Many times, I like to laminate these posters and other materials that the kids use in learning activities. These small laminator/laminates produce more sturdiness, so they can be used multiple times without being folded or get damaged. Some of the other things I like to laminate for them are DIY bookmarks and other gifts/art work of the students on special occasions.

One thing I tend to do is, from time to time, give out a lollipop to the class during independent work time, where everyone is working quietly with music for focus. My students enjoy this time.

Some of the other items on my list are flourescent light covers, bulletin board papers, and growth mindset decoration.
