My Project

My students are amazing! They live and go to school in a densely populated, urban area. They come to school ready to learn, and they also come to school with outside stressors that can affect and even hinder their learning. Students are reading Todd Parr's The Peace Book and will be using the expanding breath balls to practice feeling peace while breathing. They will use the markers to make colorful pictures referencing Parr's drawing style, to make pictures that represent the concept of 'peace.'

The expandable breath balls will support the students in their mindfulness reset practice.

They use mindfulness as a tool to help identify and lower stressors to better support their health. They understand that breathing is a tool to allow them to calm down and refocus their attention. Being present to engage in learning is a lifelong practice that your donation will support.
