Help me give my students a calming corner where they can sit comfortably and have tools to help them cope with their big feelings.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Many of my preschool special needs students are currently learning how to identify and regulate their emotions. Most of them are nonverbal so instead of using their words, it comes out through behaviors. Currently, when students feel angry, sad, frazzled or overstimulated, they do not have a comfortable and relaxing place they can go to to calm down. Having a calming corner will allow my students to have a safe and positive space where they can calm down and also learn to use tools (ex:sensory toys) and techniques (ex:breathing exercises) to cope with their feelings.
By donating to our project, you will not only help them have a space to calm down, but you will also be helping them practice identifying their feelings and emotions to better manage stress, self-regulate and control their impulses in the future.
