My Students

My goal is to make learning fun for my students, while being able to capture their independent play. It brings joy to my heart when they walk into my room eager to learn everyday. Some of my students are learning how to recognize letters and numbers, count with 1-to-1 correspondence, connect numbers with quantities, etc. While some of my other students are adding, subtracting, comparing numbers, answering questions about stories, etc. Some of my students are even reading and writing! They are so excited to learn every day!

Unfortunately, meeting the needs of all my students is extremely challenging without the necessary resources.

It is difficult to meet so many needs when my students face external obstacles every day that will prevent them from having some of the same opportunities as other students their age that come from more affluent backgrounds.

The demographics of my school consists of 93% of students that come from low-income families, 56% English Language Learners, and 20% of students have a disability. All my students want is someone who believes in them and is willing to take a chance on them.

My Project

I am preparing for my students to work from home, but also be back in school as soon as it is safe. The air purifiers will help my students breathe easier, since they capture nearly all dust and allergens, while also killing germs and odors. The Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards will allow me to create packets for my students to help them learn while they're at home, but they will also be used to purchase name sheets, journals, and math sheets to use in the classroom. Some of the other products like the chair bands and the sensory fidget stress relief toy will help fulfill the sensory needs of some of my students who have special needs.
