Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our multilingual scholars come from all over the world hungry and fired up to improve their English and enrich our community. My students in ELD level 2 are newcomers to the country who are working hard every day to accelerate their English language proficiency.
The opportunity to engage in puzzles through Breakout Kits provide a fun, challenging, and collaborative opportunity to practice speaking and listening, vocabulary, and English standards.
We can use these kits to practice new vocabulary, grammatical structures, discuss literature, and strengthen connections with their classmates.
The Breakout Kits feature protagonists of color and allow us the opportunity to build in structures to honor the home languages and cultures of all of our newcomer students.
