My Project
My students come from many different backgrounds. Many are refugees from outside the US. They are full of life and the love of learning. However, language difficulties make standard classrooms and lessons problematic for some. Breakout bags provide hands-on, physically engaging ways for my students to show their knowledge of all subject areas. The breakout bags provide for collaboration within multi-level ability groups, ensuring that struggling students have the chance to work in small groups and experience learning with their peers instead of only teacher led lessons. Seeing their excitement when they solve the codes and open the bags is priceless.
