Breaking the Code!

Help me give my students materials to make and play games, as well as hand held mirrors to watch our mouths make sounds. Both activities will help us break the code of written language!

My Students

As students in a school marked as high poverty, my students face many challenges to learning both in the classroom and at home. Despite these challenges, my students love to learn. They are eager learners and seek to meet the challenges I place before them daily. While they work hard every day to meet the rigorous goals of learning to read, they also challenge me. I strive to make my room a special place where students love to come and learn.

My Project

We need items such as velcro, laminating pouches, and manipulatives to make literacy games for our small group learning.

We learn best through hands-on activities, and these materials will help me to provide more of these activities for my students.

We will also be able to use the card holders to help us focus more on the games we are playing to learn rather than losing focus while trying to hold and look through card decks.

Research proves that students best learn through multisensory approaches. I look forward to reading and utilizing the information in the text requested to help my students create the pathways in their brains to store the code to reading.
