This is my first year of teaching! I have not gotten the opportunity to meet the wonderful people I have the privilege to teach yet. I am teaching 3 Algebra 1 courses and 2 Pre-calculus classes at a high school in the Detroit Public Schools Community District.
I think education is important, and what I love about being able to teach has much to do with helping young ones learn more about themselves and the world around them.
Each student has their own needs and goals, and I want to foster a space where those individual needs are met and that pushes them to their highest potential.
My Project
These resources will help me teach my students remotely. My school is going 100 percent remote for the start of the year, and I think having a whiteboard and document camera will allow me to teach my students in similar ways as if we we're in person.
For example, as I am going over math problems, it would be helpful If students could see the way I am going through the problem on the board.
I could also take notes for my students to follow along with using a document camera so that students don't get behind on learning!
