My Project
My students are a bright, resilient group of English Learners who come from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Many students are working hard to master a new language while also staying on track with grade-level academics. Despite these barriers, they show up every day with enthusiasm and a deep desire to connect, participate, and succeed. What makes them special is their courage and determination—they are not only learning a second language but also navigating new social and educational environments with strength and optimism.
This project will provide our classroom with the Timekettle X1 AI Interpreter Hub, a standalone, two-way simultaneous translator device.
Unlike traditional translation tools that require mobile apps or phones, the X1 offers instant, app-free communication through its built-in touchscreen, speaker, and earbuds. This device will make a transformative difference by allowing students to fully engage in classroom discussions, comprehend instructional content in real time, and collaborate confidently with peers and teachers.
My goal for this project is to break down language barriers and create an inclusive learning environment where every student feels heard, supported, and empowered to participate. The X1 will also help facilitate communication with non-English-speaking families and support students during presentations, group work, and real-world communication scenarios. With this technology, we can accelerate language acquisition, increase academic engagement, and foster a stronger sense of belonging for all English Learners in our classroom.
