Non native speaking students are coming into our classrooms at alarming numbers. Not only that, but there is a language barrier with the families as well.
With a translator, I will be able to make sure that the student understands directions and content other than reading English.
This is especially helpful in the younger grades when students are still also learning how to read in their native language as well. It will also make family conferences go smoother without having to depend on the one translator for the whole school.
