My Project
In my special education classroom, my students face challenges that go beyond academics. Many come from underfunded communities and have never had the opportunity to experience something like a coding class. While they’re eager to explore technology and problem-solving, a major hurdle stands in their way—most coding tools require reading skills they haven’t yet developed.
But my students can code—if given the right tools.
Sphero Indi robots open the door by using color-coded tiles instead of text-based commands, making coding accessible to even my youngest and most struggling readers. With these robots, my students can engage in hands-on learning that builds sequencing, problem-solving, and computational thinking—no reading required.
Your support can help bring equity and opportunity into a classroom that’s long been left out of the tech conversation. Together, we can show every student that they are capable of building, creating, and succeeding.
