This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In my experience, many students come to school unfed. Those who arrive late will go the entire morning without anything to eat until lunch time, which can range from 11am until 12:30pm. I have always provided snacks and breakfast out of my pocket because these students should not go hungry while at school.
It’s difficult for children to be hungry for knowledge when they’re physically hungry for food.
"As the nation continues to grapple with the pandemic, as many as 1 in 6 kids are facing hunger" (No Kid Hungry). By funding this project, you will be helping meet a need for students and giving them the tools to be successful in their day.
