My Project
This project will help me adapt traditional games to build a positive environment where my classes can develop their social-emotional learning while they grow academically.
Playing together, students learn the value of collaboration and build their self-esteem and appreciation for others.
They also retain information better when they are having fun and helping each other makes them feel safer and loved.
Students will also create their version of the games using their Italian skills.
Since 2020, even though we are now present at school, it has been difficult to connect with students and to create a real reciprocal trust.
The materials I am requesting (markers, paper, boxes) will be used by me and also by students to create games to study Italian linguistic structures and culture. Cooperative learning will be applied to learn and adapt traditional Italian street games from the past. Typical games like Capture the flag, will have questions about Italian language and culture added, others will have tongue twisters for students to proceed further and students will use the materials in this project to write all the language and culture related questions.
