My students need Breakout EDU kits so they can all share in the problem-solving.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students have come into high school behind grade level. But these students are not quitters. We have a strong culture of achievement, and encourage all students to prepare for and apply to college.
Were you to walk down the halls of my school, you might think you are in the United Nations.
We have students from five continents (and more than that number of islands) representing a diverse array of languages and cultures. My students are a mix of new immigrants and native born Americans. All of them want to succeed.
My Project
The breakout boxes that I am requesting will bring the puzzle-solving experience to the classroom, and students will try to crack clues, with an academic twist, to open the locked case before the bell. The Breakout EDU platform offers a library of pre-made break out puzzles on a variety of topics, and assistance in developing my own puzzles. The kit comes with cases, a number of different locks, fluorescent ink, a UV flashlight, and a year of access to the puzzles library. A typical class would involve students needing to solve a variety of puzzles, all synced to some academic content, in order to "break into" the final case.
Break out games are anything but ordinary and will help engage all students in learning while fostering friendly competition in the classroom.
I have seen students, who are usually quiet and withdrawn, suddenly become excited and involved when it comes to working on puzzles. In order to work well, there shouldn't be more than 10 or so students working on a puzzle, so my typical classroom needs two more kits in order to give all students an opportunity to engage with the puzzles.
