My Project
I love my students at Booker High School for their resilience, drive, and unique perspectives. Many come from diverse backgrounds and are eager to succeed, despite the challenges that may come with learning a new language. As part of the largest ELL population in the district, they face a variety of language barriers that can make accessing key information and fully engaging with lessons more difficult. Their determination to overcome these challenges and excel academically is truly inspiring.
Adding more English-to-Spanish dictionaries to our resources will make a significant difference in their learning.
These dictionaries will help bridge the gap in language understanding, allowing students to more easily navigate English-language texts, assignments, and tests. By providing accurate translations and quick references, these dictionaries will give them the confidence to participate more fully in class discussions and grasp complex concepts. With these tools at their disposal, our ELL students will feel more empowered, engaged, and capable of succeeding in their academic journey.
