Brave Spaces: Creating Comfort and Confidence in Learning

My Project

What I love most about my students is their resilience, creativity, and the unique way each of them sees the world. Every day, they show me what it means to persevere, to communicate in different ways, and to celebrate every victory—no matter how small.

They inspire me to create a classroom where they feel safe, respected, and capable of learning at their own pace.

The resources I’m requesting—whether it's sensory tools, flexible seating, visual aids, or calming materials—are not just extras. They are essential supports that help my students regulate their emotions, focus on tasks, and express themselves in ways that traditional materials don’t allow.

The teacher pays teachers gift cards will be used to purchase reference sheets for resource students, visuals for the classroom and scheduling, and many other learning materials that are pre-made. This gives me more time to plan and teach without having to hand make these resources.

A set of noise-canceling headphones can help a student with sensory sensitivity stay calm during transitions. A weighted lap pad can help another feel grounded enough to concentrate. Visual schedules and timers give structure and reduce anxiety. Flexible seating allows students with attention challenges to move in a way that helps them stay engaged.
