Brand New Dry Erase Boards Please!

Help me give my students brand new dry erase boards to practice word study and math.

My Students

This year is a little bit different than my 15 years teaching in the past. This 2021-2022 school year, I will be back in the building, after being away for the past year and a half. I am working on setting up my classroom to keep kids distanced and safe. I want my students to have the same experience learning as they would in front of me in a classroom without a pandemic. My remote classroom will consist of about 30 students, from a Title I, mixed-income, diverse neighborhood- learning from home, who have not had a normal school experience in over a year and a half.

Many of my students have parents who are first responders or essential workers, and distance learning and this pandemic was very hard for them academically and socially.

Some of them who have parents that must go to work will be cared for by grandparents or babysitters.

Of my 32 students, many of their kindergarten experiences were cut short in March 2020, when NYC schools went remote. They come from diverse backgrounds. Many of my students are English Language Learners (ELL) and many of them have IEPs to meet their needs.

My Project

I am asking for a new set of dry erase boards and markers. We are currently using white paper and a sheet protector because our boards are old, cracked, and hard to write on.

My second graders on Staten Island need dry erase boards to practice their new learning in word study and in math.

Our current dry erase boards are so old that we don't use them. We would rather use sheet protectors because they are easier to see and keep clean.
