This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a second-year science teacher moving to teach Biology this year, I will be teaching mostly 9th-grade students. That means this is their first year in high school, and as they are already trying to transition into a new school and schedule, I want to help their learning in STEM especially because Biology is a state-tested subject.

These materials provide various ways of catering to the students' different types of learning by providing colors and whiteboard space for my visual learners or earbuds for my auditory learners.

The markers and colored pencils will help students add color to enhance their notes. The earbuds help students who have trouble focusing in a large classroom. The additional whiteboard space is for students to be able to write down thoughts whenever necessary. Clipboards provide a chance for flexible seating for students.

The file folder organizer, hanging file folders, and manila folders provide a system for students to have their graded work returned to them in a timely manner.

These students deserve to have someone in their corner that cares about them and their learning. I want to be able to provide a safe learning space and that is why there are decorative posters, magnets, and velcro for classroom decor.
