A boring ol' Science book isn't going to cut it nowadays! In my very academically diverse classroom, my students need access to the BrainPOP website in order to view animated, curricular content that engages students and bolsters achievement.
My 8th grade Earth Science students from Idaho are a great group of kids!
My classroom consists of special education students, regular education students and gifted students. These students are preparing themselves to move on to high school and be successful.
My Project
With a BrainPOP website subscription my students will be able to be provided with the foundation to understand the world around them. This website will also encourage scientific inquiry and will promote STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) literacy. BrainPOP helps learners connect critical thinking to the scientific process and has vocabulary pages to help assess prior knowledge, enhances note taking and maintaining focus and/or assess understanding.
On a daily basis, with this website, all of my students will be able to access information in an engaging format to help with their understanding of Science concepts.
There is research that shows that an effective use of the BrainPOP website has helped Science students become more successful than their peers who don't use this site.
With a strong need to help my special education students as well as the rest of my students in the area of Science, this could be the difference! You can make a difference in the lives of over 150 students this year!
