Our kindergarten through sixth grade students attend an inner city charter school. The school is small and feels like a family. We are going through many changes and working hard to meet our goals.
Overall, the students are kind, willing to learn, and open to change.
They want to soak up knowledge and new experiences. By the time they walk into school, many of them have overcome the struggles of poverty, broken homes, and homelessness. Our charter school strives to meet all needs of our learners. We are a small school with big futures.
My Project
My students need games and activities that focus on various math concepts such as abstract numbers and operations, formulas, and algebraic expressions. BrainPop and BrainPop Jr. will give students direct feedback as well as access to animated videos and examples. They will be able to use these technology during our whole group and small group time, learning integer operations and number conversions.
BrainPop and BrainPop Jr.
are great ways to meet the needs of all of my students. BrainPop videos, activities, games, and vocabulary practice will enhance student engagement in the classroom. Utilizing BrainPOP helps students to have visuals, audio, and hands-on experience with an unlimited amount of information. Not only does this give various learning opportunities, but it also helps to create a paperless classroom as students can watch a video, play a game, take a quiz, complete a graphic organizer all on the computer! BrainPop Jr. offers numerous opportunities for deeper learning for all types of learners and breaks content down into small chunks for students to fill in their own gaps.
