This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a wonderful group of first graders in a Title I school. While they are excited to come to school and eager to learn, my students are faced with a tremendous amount of adversity. Since we are located in a high crime and high poverty area, my students and their families are faced with many challenges.

It is often difficult for my students to keep up with the high demands of school with a lack of support at home.

It is at school, however, that they get to experience and explore the wonderful world of education while in a safe and loving environment. Their love of learning is inspiring!

My Project

My students desperately need healthy snacks to eat in class and after school. Unfortunately for some of my students, the only meals they will eat each day are the free breakfasts and lunches offered at school.

It is imperative that my students have full bellies in order to concentrate and learn to their full potential.

Your donation will go toward snacks that could easily be eaten during school at my students' desks or taken home in a backpack as an after school snack. No one should be deprived of food, especially children. Your donation would make a HUGE difference in the lives of my students.
