This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students come from low income backgrounds. Although they often come to school eager, they often don't come fed and their school meals might be the only meals they have during the day, if they even get those. Even though we have free and reduced lunch options, some students may be afraid to apply due to immigration status or other familial situations.

Please help me provide brain food so my math students can focus on the classroom rather than the hunger they may be feeling.

No student deserves to feel hungry. Help me feed the students that may have forgotten breakfast, decided to make up a test instead of grab lunch, or even need support in filling out the free and reduced lunch application.

The mini-fridge will be used to house drinks, water, gatorade and Capri suns for my students in need as well. Living in Phoenix, where most of the year is quite hot, having a cold drink is an extra special treat and I want to provide not only snacks when the students are in need, but an ice cold drink as well.
