Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My 5th grade students are hard-working children from low-income backgrounds. Many of them have never traveled further than their local supermarket (though we live in a large urban city), but they are motivated by the world "beyond."
They are eager learners and, when inspired and active, are interested in their future success.
My students are still beginning to understand that they are part of a larger community and ecosystem and look for ways, through problem solving, design, and their own interests, to create a better world for themselves.
My Project
My students are problem solvers when it comes to classroom, interpersonal, and project-based learning problems. They are working to understand their personal worlds and are at the stage in their young lives where they are realizing how their actions affects the world around them.
My students' curiosities will ignite when they are able to work on their developmental, spatial, and creative craft in a flexible learning environment.
I want to give my students freedom in how and where they work. The Flex Seat Floor Seats will allow students to work, ready, and study anywhere in the room as they choose right for their learning. The Brain Flakes will help inspire their imaginations and creative minds.
