Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
A school year is packed with an intensive curriculum that stretches from August to May. Students need a brain break once in a while, in between testing periods, as an incentive, a reward, or as a mental health day.
My goal is to create a more mindful learning environment where we consider adding brain breaks in between long learning periods where students might be feeling overwhelmed or burned out.
These board games will offer my students an opportunity to relax and recharge. This incorporation will also help foster connections between peers. My students will be super excited to see all these board games in the classroom. A good percentage of my students come from low-income families that work in the fields or local shops in the city and with the financial challenges of graduation and college tuition and books, these board games will make a difference. By including small fun breaks for my seniors I hope to alleviate the stress and overwhelming schedules they might face as they prepare for college. I hope these games will make their journey smoother and more enjoyable.
