My students need 5 copies of "The Boy in Striped Pajamas" and 5 copies of "Three Cups of Tea".

This project is fully funded

I teach a multicultural studies class that was started 3 years ago with only 15 students and has now grown into three classes with over 90+ students. We do not have a set textbook for this class, and trying to buy materials for this class has become expensive. The class focuses mostly on racial issues, but also deals with women's issues, religious toleration, sexual orientation and the development of these 9-12 graders' leadership skills. I try to use different books and stories to focus the class discussion on tolerance and acceptance so my students can better understand the world and people around them.

The school community is not very diverse, and many students do not understand other cultures, nor have they been exposed to them. When I received my class rosters for this upcoming semester there are 5 more students than books. This class has been grown every year, and it would be a shame to have to turn students away from this class.

I need 5 copies each of "The Boy in Striped Pajamas" and "Three Cups of Tea." Both books will be used in the curriculum to show the students how to be more tolerant, and that one person can make a difference in the world.

This is a great way for you to help educate these students in another culture and to dispel their misunderstanding.
