Welcome to Kindergarten! Our room is full of excitement and learning opportunities! Every five and six-year-old has their own learning map, or style. We all learn different. We're all made different. In this classroom the make up is such that we have a child who is starting to read while other students are figuring out how to find their name in writing. Each child needs a different experience to create a positive feeling about learning. This project will be used with all students. One child may have a need to sit on the floor, while another may need to sit at the table. Spaces and places help to make for a more fluent learning arena. Keeping this flexible seating organized is a work in progress.
My Project
We are making our classroom more eye appealing and user friendly. Our new seating needs a place to live. We have tried using large magnets and hanging them on the chalkboard, no good. A hat tree falls over when trying to use it for storage. A large bin that rolls seems to be the answer to our storage problem.
Cardboard boxes are clearly not clear.
Clear totes allow for items to be easily found and utilized. We are excited to put our social centers and seating into spaces where we can easily locate our much needed seats and centers.
