it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My 6th grade students are an energetic and inquisitive group of children! At our small K-8 school in the Bronx, we are doing our best to to support our students' emotional well-being, encourage their curiosity, and look for any opportunity to help them feel welcome and appreciated!
This school year, I am fortunate enough to have students who LOVE to read and enjoy all kinds of different types of books: from graphic novels, to mythology, fantasy, and nonfiction!
It's wonderful to see how they enjoy reading and have varied interests. They also like that we have multiple copies of certain books so that they can read with a partner. We simply need a way to organize our library so that students know where to access books at their level, and in their genre of interest. My students deserve to have a classroom library that makes sense, with labeled and leveled bins and baskets that are easy to use for each and every one of them, no matter what their reading ability might be.
It would be amazing to have a library is both organized and beautiful within our classroom!
