My students need bouncy bands for their desks to move their feet in order to stay focused on their learning.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are freshmen in a co-taught biology classroom. This means that there are two teachers and a percentage of the students in the room are students with special needs.
Some of them have a lot of extra energy and need an outlet for that energy!
They come in eager to learn; however, sometimes their energy and daily struggles affect their learning.
My students love learning, love their school, love their teachers; but, they are students who need some extra social-emotional learning.
My Project
The bouncy bands will help keep all students engaged. They will help them focus and remain in the classroom. Right now if a student is too hyper to sit, they go for a walk in the hallway. With the bouncy bands, they will be able to use these and remain in the classroom and remain engaged in their learning. This increases the time on task for each student. My goal is to have each students learning every day and this will allow more students the support they need to be successful. The bouncy bands will also allow the students the independence to assess and adjust their needs during the entire class period.
