My Students

One thing I always tell my students is to try their best. Whether they are adding, writing sentences or drawing a picture, I tell them I do not want to hear "I can't". I tell them I want to hear "I will try my best."

When I pick my students up in the morning at 7:30 the first thing I do is serve them breakfast.

My students get to school as early as 7:00 on the dot and they receive a free, hot, breakfast, lunch, and some receive dinner as well. I work at a Title I school where over 70% of the students receive free or reduced lunch, and over half of the students attend a free after school program where they stay at school until 6:00 at night. I always encourage my students to always try their very best, even when they think they can not do something. Many of my students come to school without the supplies they need to be successful. My goal for my students is to feel loved and cared for and to be the best that they can be.

My Project

I am requesting bouncy bands for my bouncy kindergartners to help with their lack of focus and inattention. Many of my students have never experienced school before so when they enter my classroom they have to learn how to sit still and listen. However, some of my students simple do not have the ability to do that. My 5 year old students are constantly wiggling and moving around. Since kindergarten is their first experience in a school setting, I believe it is my responsibility to pay attention to my students needs and do whatever I can to help them learn as much as they can. I believe that having bouncy bands on their chairs will help them to get their pent up energy out and they will be able to focus better in class and learn even better.

Donations to my project will help make my fidgety 5 year old students better learns and help them on their path to 1st grade.

I have a lot of interruptions in my classroom because at lot of my children feel the need to constantly move around. It is my hope that bouncy bands will help with that problem and help to improve my students ability to listen and focus in class.
