My Project
I teach high school students in a special education classroom, and they are truly an amazing group of kids. Many of them have different learning differences and they each have their own way of staying focused and engaged during the school day.
One thing that really helps them is movement- whether it's standing, stretching, or fidgeting a little while they work.
That's why I'm hoping to add yoga ball chairs to our classroom. These balance ball chair seats give students the chance to move their bodies in a quiet, controlled way while they're learning, which can make a big difference in their ability to concentrate and stay calm.
Right now, we're working with traditional desks and chairs, and they don't meet my students' needs. These flexible seating options would give them more comfort, more choice, and a learning space that works better for them. I know this would be a big step in helping them feel more confident and successful at school.
