My Students

I have a class of 32 students, just my home room! I need to be able to engage 32 students, while keeping a safe and productive work environment. My classroom is loud, silly, and home for us, so we like it as cozy as possible.

Flexible seating makes students feel more comfortable at school, and gives them choices to feel responsible for their learning and activity level.

My students are special because they are the future of our country. They are always looking to push the limits, apply their knowledge, and think what next? Why should their seating limit them?!

My Project

This past year our classroom had about five different flexible seating options. We had up to 33 students at any given time, so we had to create a schedule for students to be able to each get to use it, which defeats the purpose.

This year with 65 students who will be utilizing my classroom, I would like students to have all options possible for them to be most comfortable, and perform best.

Wobble chairs, bean bag chairs, yoga balls, balance disks, and bouncy bands give students the flexibility of multiple choices that will keep them active, engaged, and smiling while they learn! If I want students to love reading and building stamina, I want them comfortable!
