Bounce, Roll and Move: Active Play Donations for Little Learners
Help me give my students various types of balls (foam balls, textured balls, rubber balls) along with kid-friendly exercise equipment (dumbbells, yoga cards, exercise dice) to help our little learners develop important physical skills while having fun.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In our 3K classroom, movement is an essential part of learning. Our Exercise and Ball Unit is designed to help young children develop important physical, social, and cognitive skills through fun engaging activities. To make these units as impactful as possible, we are in need of various balls along with kid-friendly exercise equipment.
These materials will transform our classroom into an exciting, active learning environment where students can develop motor skills by kicking, throwing, rolling, catching balls to strengthen hand-eye coordination, balance, and fine and gross motor skills.
This equipment will encourage teamwork and social skills by participating in group activities, turn taking, sharing, and cooperative play. They will promote healthy habits by, engaging in movement-based activities which foster a love for physical activity and teaches life-long fitness habits. Lastly, They will support cognitive growth. Games with balls introduce early math concepts such as counting, patterns, and spatial awareness in a hands-on way.
My goal for this project is to create fun, inclusive, and active learning spaces where students can build confidence, stay engaged, and develop essential movement skills.
My 3K students are curious, energetic, and eager to learn through play. They thrive when given opportunities to explore their world in active, hands-on ways. Each child brings their own unique personality, strengths, and creativity to the classroom, making every day an exciting adventure. With the right resources, we can help them build the confidence, skills, and enthusiasm for learning that will last a lifetime.
