Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My classroom is a safe space where students with special needs come to grow academically, emotionally, and socially. Each student has unique learning needs, and many of them struggle with anxiety, sensory regulation, and focus. These challenges can get in the way of learning unless we create the right environment, with movement, comfort, and flexibility.
I am requesting flexible seating options and movement-based tools, including bouncy ball chairs, pedal exercisers, sensory cushions, jump ropes, and yoga/stretching gear.
These tools are more than just fun—they’re scientifically proven to help regulate emotions, reduce stress, and improve focus. Movement stimulates brain activity, reduces anxiety, and helps students stay calm and ready to learn.
Bouncy ball seats allow students to release excess energy while improving posture and core strength. Pedal exercisers can go under desks to help students stay grounded and focused during lessons. Sensory cushions provide calming deep pressure and improve body awareness. Jump ropes and outdoor movement breaks release stress and increase feel-good endorphins.
Many of my students experience daily stressors related to sensory processing, frustration tolerance, and attention. With these tools, I can help them self-regulate and participate more fully in class. When their minds feel calm and their bodies are in motion, learning becomes more accessible and enjoyable.
