This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My preschool students are children who are three to five years of age. My school is in sunny San Pedro, California. The children from San Pedro come to school each morning ready to learn and grow. There is never a dull moment in our class; my students are busy bees moving from one interest area to another. They are eager to learn, explore, and experiment with the instructional materials and centers I set up for them. We need more materials for the children to engage with, materials that will foster their interest in technology, literacy, math, science, art, and engineering.
My Project
My student's need hands-on-practice with alphabet instructional materials to reinforce the retention of the letter name's and letter sounds. The letter-sound matching board will boost my student's alphabet skills as they engage with matching letters to pictures that start with that letter's sound.
The set of 26 uppercase and lower case alphabet stamps will foster their interest in letters and word knowledge as they're stamping the letters in colorful ink pads to make their name's and words.
The 3-letter word building puzzles are an excellent tool for reading success for my student's that have already mastered the letter name's and sounds; they will be able to engage with puzzles that will help them spell simple words. The magnetic alphabet maze will help my student's with mastering letter identification and alphabet order, the children will be exploring the alphabet by matching each letter of the alphabet with the corresponding letter magnet.
