This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My 11th and 12th graders are enrolled in rigorous science classes such as AP Environmental Science and Regents Chemistry. Most students will be first-generation college-bound children in their families, so any equipment and snacks will motivate them.
Your donation will help provide snacks to hungry students as they have long school hours, many of whom are in morning, afternoon, or even morning/afternoon college courses on top of regular high school programs.
Furthermore, students would benefit from more engaging, rigorous inquiry-based activities for their advanced science courses, such as lab investigations. In addition, having classroom whiteboards would help brainstorming and collaboration in STEM courses.
