Music is for everyone. Whether you enjoy listening to it, playing it, mixing it, critiquing it, or singing, everyone can find something they enjoy about music. This rings true for the students where I teach and is a foundational philosophy of how I run my classroom.
My students come from all different backgrounds, but come together with music.
Even though students come from different families and cultures, they come together to make musical greatness out of singing, dancing, and playing instruments.
At the IB school where I teach, all students learn how to express themselves in their own way. They are courageous enough to share their talents with each other and know how to build each other up to be better performers and people in general. That's what I love about my students.
My Project
With these boomwhackers, students will have access to more range in their music making. Currently, we only have the one octave sets, but adding the bass, chromatic and treble extension set will add depth to our music making. When students play boomwhackers, they are individually responsible for their note and then learn to work together as a team to create the song. It's all about teamwork! These extensions will allow for more difficult music to challenge them and more opportunities to play for all students. Please consider helping us out.
