My Students

I am a first grade teacher in a rural school district in Oklahoma. Our school district does qualify for free breakfast, lunch and dinner. I have a great group of kids this school year. There are twenty-one, six and seven year old students in my self-contained classroom. I have a very creative, active and imaginative group of students, I want them to thrive and be pushed to do their best in my classroom! I hope to give my students the best "all around" educational experience possible!

My Project

Have you ever been to an assembly or program and the speakers were so bad no one could hear them? Well, that is how it is in our "old" gym. My students will be able to use the portable boom box and ipod touch during indoor and outdoor assemblies. We have a first grade rise-n-shine every Friday morning. My students love to sing and dance. The boombox will allow us to have our rise-n-shine indoor and outdoors! We will be able to purchase music and store it on the ipod touch. My students will also use the ipod touch during learning stations.
