My Project
I am a New York City public school educator. I am a part of a district which is a cohort of many schools across our city and has the highest amount of special needs students. Our district is specifically designed to educate students with disabilities. My students have Autism and multiple disabilities. They are also economically disadvantaged.
Our district works a 12-month program, so it is essential to have appropriate educational materials and curriculum to support them and meet their individualized learning needs.
I teach students with disabilities, and 100% of my students qualify for free and reduced-price lunch. Students often come to us with many various struggles that we need to differentiate learning to meet their varied needs. I want their education to help them achieve success.
Students often come to us with many struggles. I want their education to be fun and exciting. Digital resources open the world to a new environment that can support students various learning needs. Having digital, game-based lessons best support students and help move us forward. My students are motivated to learn using digital technologies, so I want to use their interest to help them learn and grow. There are not a plethora of digital resources available for my students that are free. Most resources you will either have to create or have to pay for. Even using an image that can help a child learn can come at a cost.
A gift card for TPT and subscription to Boom Learning will provide quick & easy access to engaging differentiated standards-based lessons to enrich the students learning. The gift card and membership will allow me to get necessary digital resources to support all of my students. It is thanks to kind donors like you that providing these activities are possible.
