My Students

I teach 5/6th graders and I love my students and I want to support them the best way possible to be successful and reach their potential. That means, I see students as individuals who need individualized support.

I tell my students frequently that I want what is best for them.

I want them to be successful in and out of the classroom! I love to see my students with a book because I know how much reading can help with all parts of their education.

My Project

As a first year teacher I have been doing all I can to encourage my students to read. With the additional books that have been donated by the community comes a storage problem! Our classrooms current bookshelf is over 8 feet tall!

Providing books that are interesting for free reading time is only one step, students actually need to be able to easily reach them!

This shelf would allow for students to take responsibility for organization of books. Students benefit from reading on their level and having books organized by categories would help them make smart choices for their independent reading. Thank you for considering donating toward this classroom project. The students love adding new materials to our classroom.
